How Are Braces Put On?
Attaching braces to teeth is simple and easy. We first polish and remove all debris on your teeth, then use cheek retractors to keep the moisture and saliva off as well. Specialized cleaning and preparation techniques get the enamel ready then each brace receives some dental adhesive before being placed on the tooth. A high powered LED light then makes the adhesive get hard and bond to the enamel. There is no use of needles or freezing for any procedure in our office and the braces are eventually removed as simple as they go on.
Wires are then inserted into the braces to gently direct the teeth where to go. Depending on the problem and type of brace we decide to use, everyone’s braces may look slightly different. Some patients may choose a colored elastic, while others may choose no colors. Others may have clear braces.
